Find the perimeter of a polygon whose side lengths are 5.5ft, 4.59ft, 2.21ft, 6ft and 2.9ft
5 months ago
Q:
Find the perimeter of a polygon whose side lengths are 5.5ft, 4.59ft, 2.21ft, 6ft and 2.9ft
Accepted Solution
A:
The perimeter of a polygon is the sum of each side, so we have three sides, namely:
[tex]s_{1} = 5.5ft[/tex]
[tex]s_{2} = 4.59ft[/tex]
[tex]s_{3} = 2.21ft[/tex]
[tex]s_{4} = 6ft[/tex]
[tex]s_{5} = 2.9ft[/tex]
Then the perimeter is:
[tex]P = s_{1}+ s_{2}+s_{3}+s_{4}+ s_{5} [/tex]
∴ [tex]P = 5.5ft+4.59ft+2.21ft+6ft+2.9ft[/tex]
∴ [tex]P = 21.2ft[/tex]
